Tiamat's Known Story
Tiamat — Mother of the Primordial Waters
Before the world existed, there were only two great cosmic beings:

But the younger gods learned of Apsu’s intentions and struck first. Apsu was killed.

After Apsu’s death, Tiamat becomes furious and grief-stricken. The cosmic balance has been broken.
