~Obatala Versus Jesus~ Voodoo Ain't So Bad, So Please Don't Demonize What You Don't Understand

One of the ORISHAS of Yoruba mythology, he’s a Creator God who didn’t get a chance to create.kwekudee-tripdownmemorylane.blogspot.fr   http://sfbayview.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/Obatala-God-of-Yoroba-mythology.jpg

Because i am sick of people demonizing Voodoo, and need to express that the Older the "gods" aren't so bad, after-all.  Feeding the primordial forces of "gods" feeds the goode side to balance out the bad one.  As far as i can find the African Pantheon of "gods" is the Oldest with the least amount of negative attributes.  Astrotheology is the base of religions; whether you like it or not, Obatala as well as Jesus are both incarnations of the Sun (Jamaica Radio-com, 2015).  Since we all know about Jesus, i would like to begin by presenting Obatala to you.

"Obatalá (Obbatalá) is called the creator of earth and the sculptor of mankind because he was given this job by his father Olodumare, the supreme God in the Lucumí pantheon.  According to a patakí (sacred story), Olodumare sent Obalatá to earth at the beginning of time, when there was nothing there but water.  Olodumare gave his son a little bit of dirt and a chicken, and he told him to create the earth with it. Obatalá put the dirt in a pile in the middle of the sea and put the chicken on top of it. Soon, the chicken started scratching the dirt, spreading it around, and that's how the earth took shape.  Once the continents had been formed, Olofi, another manifestation of the supreme God, told Obatalá to form human beings.  Obatalá obeyed, adding the final touch by putting heads on the bodies of the humans he created. That's why Obatalá is said to be the owner of all heads" (para.1, http://www.aboutsanteria.com/obatalaacute.html).

"Obatalá is the owner of all things that are white, as well as the human head and all of its thoughts and dreams. He also owns silver and white metals, and the ceiba tree. Obatalá likes cotton, cocoa butter, cascarilla (powder made of egg shells), marble eggs, and snails.  As tribute, he likes merengues, white rice, white custard, rice pudding, black eyed peas, fruits with a grainy texture like pomegranates, pears and custard apples, roasted ñamé (sweet potato) and malanga (taro root). Obatalá's food can never be salted.  He's an Oricha who came directly to earth from heaven as the son of God, specifically Olodumare and Olofi.  He was sent to earth to do good and govern as the king of the planet.  Obatalá is calm, wise, understanding, and he loves peace and harmony. He demands proper behavior from his children and, out of respect, they obey him.  No one can swear or blaspheme in front of Obatalá, and no one should appear naked in his presence.  He hates alcohol and prohibits his children from drinking it.  He always dresses in white, and his eleke (beaded necklace) is also white. He lives in a white porcelain sopera (soup tureen) kept on the altar of the home. Obatalá protects against blindness, paralysis and dementia" (para.3, http://www.aboutsanteria.com/obatalaacute.html) .

Jesus tells folks to practice mock cannibalism, supports slavery, and has had more folks killed in His name in the last 2,000 years than any Pagan/Heathen deity.

In the past three years i have been into Voodoo/Hoodoo  i have not found any widespread killing like the bible describes, other than when the white christians captured and enslaved the black Voudun Africans.  Did you know Voudun means God in some forums?  Of course, i am not hunting that cite up.

Voodoo History (2017) explains that "ask a hundred different voodoo priest about voodoo and you will get a hundred different answers.
The word 'vodun' — the Haitian word 'Voodoo' is derived from — comes from the African Fon Language which is still spoken today in Benin. Vodun means 'divinity' or 'Idol'"(paras 1 & 2).

They further add that "in 1492 AD Columbus discovered an island, known today as Haiti, which he named 'Hispaniola'. Very quickly, the settlers discovered the sugar cane and tobacco, the benefits of cotton and agricultural wealth of Hispaniola. The original inhabitants of Hispaniola, proved to be poor slaves, and very susceptible to diseases. King Charles V of Spain ordered the deportation of 15,000 blacks from Africa to meet the demand of the Spanish colonists in Hispaniola. As indeed belonged to many but not all, of the black slaves of the Yoruba ethnic group, soon began to merge cultures and religions, and laid the foundation for today's voodoo" (Voodoo History, 2017, pic comment).

It wasn't Voodoo people who went to the white man's land to capture and enslave the white man of monotheism... "strike that & reverse it" ...the devil seems to be white & monotheistic NOT black & into Voodoo.
