TV is usually very boring to me, but i am digging the show Lucifer. It is also making my mind spin, and my heart ache because i totally get that Lucifer really ain't that bad of a guy. What's not to like??? Angels and Demons are getting along, and Lucifer is mending hurts between himself and his brother. The character in the show is tired of being vilified, and although he believes in having fun he enjoys punishing people who are really bad. In the series he plays a hot and lovely civilian who helps a police officer solve crimes. He even burns his wings because he doesn't want to go back to hell and torment people as his father wishes.

A short biblical list of what Lucifer's "father" has done include sending his only son to suffer and die, creating hell, flooding the Earth to kill all plants and animals along with the people, killing the first born in all of Egypt, cursing all women for what one woman did, and telling folks to kill Witches. Wowzers!!! I would rebel against my Dad for all of that too.
Vexen Crabtree (2014) did some great research and created a great article that looks at "satan" from around the world and different beliefs called "Satan and The Devil in World Religions" She tells us that "most people equate Lucifer with Satan because of the mistakes of a large number of enthusiastic Christian writers, relying upon, as they were, a mistranslation and misunderstanding of a verse from the Bible. Popular poems, stories and (nowadays) the film industry, are all compelled towards continuing the association due to a lack of theological knowledge and academic fact-checking. Lucifer is not Satan".

The show Lucifer calls the man's last name as Morningstar. Two people are called Morninstar in the bible.

The bible is a very confusing and contradicting book when it is examined closely and we make up our minds about what the verses may or may not mean. For this reason i pose that enjoying the show Lucifer, and that gorgeous hunk of a man playing Lucifer should be okay.
